Da fehlte tatsächlich ein wichtiger Schritt in der Anleitung, nämlich 
das auschecken der korrekten Branches (jeweils 'testing').

Die Sequenz sieht neu wie folgt aus, hier am Beispiel vom DS485-Core:

    git clone git://gitorious.digitalstrom.org/ds485-stack/ds485-core.git
    cd ds485-core
-> git checkout testing
    cmake
    make
    make install
